New Adaptation of Adventures of Peter Rabbit Premiers During Easter Holidays

So far today Peter Rabbit has been chased by Mr McGregor, lost his jacket and shoe and almost got caught in a net… but that is not the worst thing that will happen today.  Now Peter and Mrs Tittlemouse need to save Benjamin Bunny from the clutches of Mr Gregor before it’s too late.

Get ready for a heart-warming and action-packed adventure as award winning actor and Belmont local, Paul Adams presents his new adaptation of the classic tale, Adventures of Peter Rabbit. This new take on the story promises to be a must-see event for families this Easter.

This is the one piece of theatre for kids not to be missed.

After being rescheduled in 2019 then again in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this new adaptation of Adventures of Peter Rabbit finally takes the stage in April 2023. “It was great to see such a positive and excited response to the story when we performed it for a select preview audience in 2019,” says Paul Adams, the Artistic Director of Small Crown Productions who is also wirking as the writer / director for the show. “The kids loved the script and I can’t wait for audiences to experience it in its full glory this April.”

The cast of professional actors will be joined by a young actress making her debut.  Chloe Mandall-Davis, a 12-year-old girl living with Type 1 Diabetes, has been cast as the voice of Cottontail in a new production of the beloved classic. Despite her young age and living with diabetes, Chloe has shown a passion and dedication for acting, and her talent has not gone unnoticed.

Director Paul Adams, was keen to give her an opportunity to start following her dreams and offered her the role of Cottontail. Adams said, “I saw Chloe show a real passion for acting and a commitment to doing the work required in her acting classes last year. She just started high school but there are no acting opportunities for her in the first couple of years, so I wanted to give her a chance to keep pursuing her passion.”

The season will run from April 4th to April 8th, 2023, at the Ron Hurley Theatre in Seven Hills. All tickets are children’s prices, with free parking on site, making this an affordable and entertaining family outing.

The season is offering accessible options as well.  The two shows performed on April 7th will be performed as Relaxed Performances with reduced volume and lighting effects, and Companion Card holders will also be able to see the show for free when accompanying a client to any performance.
